This week, our A-Level Dance students had the exciting opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of contemporary ballet, attending a performance of Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake at Sadler’s Wells, London. The students were thrilled to experience the reimagined classic ballet live, where they had the chance to witness the iconic male swan ensemble that has become a hallmark of Bourne's groundbreaking choreography.

The performance, which forms part of a UK tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of Bourne’s Swan Lake, left a lasting impression on the students, offering them a unique insight into the artistry and vision of one of the most influential choreographers of our time.

Adding to the excitement, the students were then treated to a workshop led by Cameron Flynn, a talented dancer currently performing in Swan Lake as part of Bourne’s renowned dance company, New Adventures. Flynn, whose career includes work with some of the UK's top dance companies, guided the students through a dynamic and insightful session, sharing his expertise and passion for movement, while offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of professional dance. The students were inspired by his skill and knowledge, and the experience was an invaluable addition to their studies.
